The Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern is situated in the middle of the Old Town of Lucerne, which is in the heart of Switzerland.
Tradition that transcends history: five generations of hospitality.
We would like to acquaint you briefly with our building. It was built in 1845 and, in terms of art history, is one of the few hotels in Switzerland of national significance. Its original architecture has been preserved, and the interior design of the rooms is incomparable. As a result of the renovation in 1999, the Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern once again reflects all the splendour of the 19th century, while also providing an infrastructure which accommodates everything needed for today’s modern hotel operations. Emperors and empresses, queens and kings, writers and musicians have all been guests at the Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern. Tolstoy wrote one of his works here; Wagner completed “Tristan and Isolde” and also met Ludwig II here. A long history awaits you here: a history which is also our family history.
The Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern has been owned by our family since 1861, and we are the fifth generation to run it. The principle of hospitality was passed on to us as our legacy, and we endeavour to put it into practice in the highest sense of the word. Standard Rooms
A total of 19 rooms with a queen-size bed. Five of which have a view of the lake and the mountains. 14 rooms have a view of the courtyards in Lucerne’s Old Town and the Musegg Wall.
Our rooms are discreetly elegant, spacious and equipped with state-of-the-art communication technology.
The rooms have individually adjustable air conditioning and heating, a sitting area with table and chairs, desk with modem connection, minibar, direct-dial telephone, radio, cable TV with all major national and international stations, pay TV, LAN, guest information system, high-speed Internet access. Electricity supply 220 V; safety door key with Key Card; safe. Bathroom with bath/toilet, with a shower as well in most rooms; hairdryer and magnifying mirror.
Superior Rooms
A total of 67 rooms, 34 of which have a view of the lake and the mountains. Thirty-three rooms have a view of the courtyards in Lucerne’s Old Town and the Musegg Wall.

Junior Suite
A total of 11 junior suites, all with a view of the lake and mountains, some with balcony. The design and furnishings of the room are similar to the superior double room, but the junior suite is larger.
